Nothing special here...there is a matching program, but it's only 3%. I've never had less than 4%.

They do offer PTO, but it starts at two weeks and caps at three. It's substandard at this point and is actually a reason I'd consider leaving. As hard as you work here, and as profitable as the company is, considering the research showing the benefits of generous leave, you'd think DR Horton would re-examine its policy.

DR Horton offers great medical, dental, vision plan. Even for domestic partner. One of the best plans out there

The healthcare plans are pretty decent, especially after 3 years when the premium plan becomes available. They're not free, but not prohibitively expensive, and the coverage is very good. Generally, the benefits are typical for a large company. The Paid Time Off is behind the times and actually creates trouble recruiting, especially in tech-heavy cities. In spite of endless research that indicates strong leave policies lead to happier, more productive workers, DR Horton offers only 10 days of a vacation for the first four years and maxes out at 3 days from 5 years on. Mid to upper-level managers transitioning from other companies who are used to 3 to 4 weeks of PTA outwardly express dismay at this. two flex days are offered, but they only tend to replace President's Day, which are not included, especially for those who have kids who will be home from school those days. DR Horton should consider updating its leave policy. It's very much outdated. Remote work options one day per week would be apreciated as well.

Typical benefits you would expect from a sizable corporation

The good: Great health insurance options, once you’ve been there for a year. Premiums are good regardless. 401K contributions are about average. The not as good: Holidays are fewer than at most other companies, although you do get some personal days. Vacation policy is poor relative to most other large companies.
