You have many options for healthcare plans. Aetna PPO is decent, but expensive. Vision/dental are nice.

Great family leave benefits and sick time is available.
For substitute teachers there is none.

Only let u use Retirement Plan. No Social Security with it. Important for Medicare later. Benefits are just what u provide like 403B money. No perks.

Dcps provides competive health insurance and allows employees to select from 3 different insurers. Dental and vision is provided through the Washington Teachers Union.
the worst thing is Health Insurance going high, and no overtime for workers making sure maitenance workers always have all supplies to work with and clean with. its not acceptable for workers to do wrong neither like come in late fake cleaning and try to say you did the work when someone else did it,
You have three choices of companies for insurance, and most of them have two or three options from there. DCPS does not pay into Social Security, but you do get a pension instead.
