Best: Great benefits with respect to 403B and 457. Worst. There is only one person doing 403b's and 457 so the service is not good. Retirement help is not professional or on target as the staff in central office have too many clients and not enough time to do the job properly.

Must stay for five years to be fully vested in retirement matching. After one year, you are not vested at all.

The best thing about the benefits package at DC Public Schools is the what the system offers for teachers.

District of Columbia Public Schools provides a great benefit package for employees and teachers. However, it is hard to connect with human resource employees on the phone.

Great coverage from a national provider, including vision and dental through the Teachers' Union. No concerns regarding in-network coverage, and ease of use when visiting specialists.

The medical benefits are solid. Retirement package as well.

When I left, it took DCPS over 2 months to pay out vacation. Not surprising. I had to fix 401 K contribution because HR neglected to take it out.
