The culture is terrible.
They match 401k up to 7%. They offer 3 different health plan options and 2 dental. Paid vacation time is good. Ppo plan can be pricey

*Above average time off provided *High quality and comprehensive health insurance package offered, however it cost employee's dearly in monthly dues. * Retirement is basically a 401k with slight employer match, nothing spectacular. * Mental health days would be nice after dealing with hostile and negative people all day. * If you are M-F office personnel you have additional perks, such as flexible hours and Holidays off. However in DPS- Airport Security you don not get flexible work hours, nor Holidays off, nor the choice of turning down mandatory overtime, nor do you get a lunch break.
Too expensive, I am used to working for a public employer that paid for all of the employees health insurance plans. DFW wants approximately $160/mo for just the employee alone, adding family can run costs up to $700/mo. Benefits are generous in what they cover, however it is cost prohibitive to employees with minimal annual raises given of less than 3%. To be competitive you need to research how many city governments and counties in Texas pay for their employees insurance.

Great LiveWell benefits with access to first-rate fitness center and no-cost clinic. Employees are paid back up to three days' pay for participating in wellness initiatives.
The benefits package is excellent. We have an on-site gym, clinic, monthly rates for insurance are reasonable and the vacation/sick leave is more than ample.
Great health insurance package for the price we pay compared to most companies. Dental not so great, cheap plan, cheap dentists, good plan to expensive per month. 7% match to 401K No longer have pensions. Great TOP, (approx 5-6hr per pay period for TOP) SICK (approx 3-3.5 per pay period Sick) Not many holidays off for board employees at headquarters
