401k with employer gift of 5%, pair maternity/paternity leave and flexible days to use as need for family care, options for health insurance that include 1 for 100% coverage for employee.
Best: Vacation. Worst: Retirement savings.
No matching 401k = worst. Best = decent health coverage. DSST will contribute to medical premiums
5% 401K gift, not even a match. Time off. 6 weeks paid paternity and maternity leave.
DSST's benefits packages are truly incredible, and take into account the different lifestyles of its diverse staff.
Snake oil heath insurance. While most neighboring school districts, and government programs, employ Kaiser for their employees, DSST utilizes Aetna that has worse coverage, higher deductibles, and fewer treatment locations in the Denver/Metro Area. This is all because Aetna is a cheaper cost to DSST as a company. Sick leave is a joke. Teachers are only allowed 4 sick days a year, when, most, public school districts provide 10 a year.
I have worked in education for many years-these benefits are the best options I have encountered. There are many options and each year they get better. No participation in PERA.
