No thng to add. Retirement handled by the state
TRS pension plan based on final years' salary and years of experience.
I'm sure it is comparable to other public schools.
It is a typical 403b plan but the district doesn't do any matching.
It's compulsory and if you leave employment with the state of texas you have to either take it all or none out.
The retirement plan is not optional, they automatically deduct some money out of your paycheck every month.
It is required to pay into the Teachers Retirement System
One of the few companies you can still get a true pension.
TRS manages this, personal financial advisor says it is sound.
