    You are given one sick day per month. They should include at least one additional mental health day in addition.

    We get state and local days each year. They may not be enough if you end up needing surgery though unless you've accrued some for several years. There is a sick bank you can join though and if days are available, you can get some through it.

    Not enough sick days for being around germy children. They dropped it from 10 to 8 days per school year.

    A substitute must be secured when leaving for healthcare appointments.This means a half day of sick time must be taken if the appointment is during school hours. Sick days greatly reduce loss of income, especially if there is a chronic illness.
