Nice to get a paycheck during the summer (12 weeks paid vacation is great).

Between breaks, sick time & personal days it works out to be about 8.5 weeks off a year and a 4x10 (Friday off) option during the summer.

I spend most of my summer vacation in training as I do not want to miss class time to do trainings. Teachers have ten sub days, but to get your full rubric points, you cannot miss any days to receive a 3, no more than 4 days to receive a 2. So if you utilize those days, there is still a penalty.

You have to get approval to use it or you run the possibility of getting written up.

10 days PTO is okay, but not enough.

With the regular paid time off that you receive, I.e., holidays, etc. It's good, just don't take too many of your paid vacation days, it counts against your evaluation.

School schedule you don't need to be off during the year unless you have an emergency
