    The deductible is $3000, but once you hit the deductible you are covered at 100%. The company is self-insured and makes efforts to keep costs down.

The self-funded health insurance coverage is not great. Specialist appointments are still quite expensive, and imaging tests are downright painful. Work here if you're healthy and plan to stay that way.

While on the surface the benefits package seems light, the exposure is minimal and the HSA eligibility covers the rest. Well thought out plan for a medium sized company.

$1500 HDP and HSA, no company matching on the HSA as I've seen with other companies. Only 6 paid holidays, and start out with a week vacation after 6 months. No seperate bucket of sick or personal time. Gain Sharing (profit sharing) on a quarterly basis.

I never meet the deductible so basically everything is out of pocket and then a new year rolls around. It's great should anything major happen but unless you meet your $3000, it's very costly to go to a doctor. About 2K out of pocket last year.

High deductible ($3000). You have to pay out of pocket for everything except yearly check-up until you reach the deductible. Upper management doesn't seem to get how stressful it is when you have no idea how much the doctor bill is going to be.
