You get one week vacation carry over. However, you accumulate vacation throughout the year, so it's hard to plan longer vacation time off earlier in the year when it would more ideal to take vacation.

3 weeks off to start and paid for the days that the University is closed (i.e. over Christmas), 2-3 additional floating holidays over the summer...

Vacation accrual and university holidays are excellent. Most exempt staff are 3 weeks a year plus all university holidays. There is also voluntary unpaid leave up to 3 weeks. I wish you could still carry over 2 weeks into the new year but now you can only carry over one.

Best thing... The time off you get when the university closes for the holidays (this year Dec. 23 through Jan 4th).
