The income is the only benefit for adjunct faculty which was per credit hour. No other significant benifits
The benefits are non existent if you aren't a full time worker. Or a student worker, there also aren't many chances to move up.

Adjunct Instructors do not get most benefits but are allowed to participate in the 401K plan.
the orientation process was longer than most. Student enrollment dictated the need for how many instructor were needed
Adjunct faculty are purposely kept to a strict maximum course load per year in order to prevent them from becoming eligible for health insurance or other benefits.
