They provide decent health and dental insurance.
Health insurance is pretty expensive for a family of 4 . Vacation and time off are good . Retirement benefits are good too.
They give you a stipend each month if you take their benefits, which is great. Downside is not enough employees enroll in coverage the plans are not the most competitive.
Contribution into PERA is a must but in order to receive the full payout, you must become vested, which only happens after 5 years. As an employee, there is no legitimate full-time position for bus drivers initially so you can be fired at any time.
CONS: The health providers that DPS picks are atrocious! PROS: More PTO than you know what to do with!!
Best thing: The extensive vacation and sick time as well as access to CO Pera. Worst thing: the insurance options are atrocious. They will be adding a new provider this spring but it will still be extremely expensive and limited. I've worked in other school districts before and this is definitely the worst insurance package I've ever had.
They pay a portion toward health insurance. Lots of time off & vacation accrual.
Great PTO - sick days and vacation days
Very generous PTO Family health insurance is really expensive for employer - family of 4 $1000/month
Could be better. Unfortunately, it's always mediocre for educators.
