Time off is generally pretty generous however DHMF follows hospital standards for time therefore all sick, vacation and holidays are accrued in one "bucket" and is taken as PTO. They DO give extra accruals for the Holiday. The pro about this is that if you're rarely sick, you have extra time to take for vacation (as opposed to having separate buckets for sick/PTO). Also, upon termination, all PTO is paid out, including unused Holiday accruals. The Cons is that as a new employee, since you have not accrued much/if any PTO, if there is a holiday, you do not get paid for the holiday. Also, when trying to plan for vacations, it's difficult to keep track of upcoming holidays to be sure you don't use up all your PTO and be left with no holiday time.
The health benefits and co-pays for medical are really good. Dental not so good even if you pay for the better one. They'll match you on your 401k which is really nice.
Medical, dental, vision benefits, 401k, etc. Decent choices, average costs.
Pay and benefits are competitively aligned. They need to be.
Majority of benefits are at no additional cost to employee and family
At DHMF, there are many good benefits for a part time employee that I never thought a company would even offer.
Benefits are paid for by the company, great 403B, decent PTO and they are always improving their benefits package.
The benefits were attractive, fair, and easy. They thought of it all. It was very intuitive to understand for all.
Best: Free Medical insurance Worst: PTO bank same as short term sick bank and holiday bank. Makes it difficult to earn PTO.
Best: Free health care (HMO) for employee and family members. Can choose from UC Davis or Mercy Medical Group. Good dental options (free and low cost) . Worst: - PTO and holiday are combined - say they give you more PTO accrual; however, not comparable to other companies. - Make it difficult to use sick time and it accrues VERY slowly.
