Great insurance and retirement package, if you're able to stay in the industry to meet the retired benefits eligibility requirements.
Great price and great options to work with, including HSA options. Easy enrollment and user friendly benefits site. Great PTO/Sick hours/and holiday pay.
Benefit package was good if you only need to cover yourself medically. Expensive for families
The healthcare for teachers is terrible. Is to the point where I didn't go to the doctor hardly at all because I had hardly and coverage.
Time off is the best. Worst is the pay freeze we had several years ago and now on a Market-value system.
HSA account with great dental and vision at an extra cost. I had a flex savings account and was not given enough information, did not know that therew was a deadline for turning in receipts to get money back and waited until the end of the year, which was too late. Ended up looking my $2000!!! It does not roll over to the next year, you use it or loose it, which I was never told!
vested in PERA after 5 years.
High cost of Health, Dental and Vision insurance if you are covering more than a single individual. If you are a single teacher, the benefits seem like a great deal.
Retirement Package is the best benefit
It is a school district! PERA teacher retirement. Minimal health, dental, and vision insurance. No 401k. Use to have teacher contributed sick bank but district took it away.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
