Employer contributions to cash balance retirement savings. Good insurance options.
I was a contractor for Duke Energy so there were no benefits. Health Insurance and 401K were on my own.
Good 401K, Health, and Supplemental Insurance
The deductibles are high, so I pay more per check for the lower deductible. They have maternity/paternity leave, and even leave for adoptions. Rally App. you can earn $400 back by meeting with dr, or doing onsite health screenings. Non-smoker discounts however each year the prices go up a good percentage, and people who have been here long enough tell everyone how bad the insurance is compared to when they started.
Good PTO. Small contribution to medical.
Best: 401K Worst: Health insurance is high
401K matching is weak. Takes a long time to accrue vacation.
The best thing was healthcare package and the worst thing about the package was the dental care. I felt like there could have been more benefits provided where there would be less out of pocket expenses.
Health insurance is expensive, but I guess it is everywhere, but Duke Energy does offer a subsidy program that allows you to earn money off of your premium. There is a 401k match program. Pensions are no longer available to new employees.
They have a great 401k match program, that's about it. Parking covers about 30% of what you will pay monthly. Their healthcare is laughable in comparison to their competitors and they only give 10 days off a year.
