We don't have a ton of social events but the ones we do have are nice. We do a bi-monthly staff lunch, always the day before pay day. We have seasonal events like a cookie competition, Halloween dress-up, Thanksgiving potluck, etc.

Our particular location always does a Thanksgiving social event, a Christmas social event, a monthly birthday event, and then appreciation events after staff meetings seasonally (or more frequently.) When open on holidays (such as Labor Day,) mgmt. throws the staff who is working that day a pizza party.

They really do have social events to attend that have food and drinks, it is nice that they do that. Usually small gatherings, nothing fancy....Got a Christmas bonus....and a gift card.

I think it is great that they have social events/holiday parties. However, it seems that as the company grows, these events aren't as nice or put together like they have been in the past. The events they put on now almost make you feel less appreciated as an employee, than doing nothing at all. Appreciation goes a very long way in any work place. I feel like they are in desperate need in finding ways to improve their events and showing appreciation for their employees.
