Employer Summary

The Equinix 401(k) Plan helps employees build financial security and provides important tax advantages. Employees are automatically enrolled in the plan which is administered by Fidelity. Equinix will match 50 cents on every dollar employees contribute up to 6% of eligible earnings. Contributions to the 401(k) are taken on a pre-tax basis which helps lower your taxable income. The Equinix plan also offers a ROTH feature where employees can contribute post-tax dollars and receive those contributions tax-free upon retirement.

There is a 3% match on a 6% salary contribution. The one part that sucks is you don't get the full match until it vests at the end of the year. This means that if you leave the company, you lose the benefit.
