If you are part-time you get early access to new releases, commission on many things in the store, extra pay on holidays, a flexible schedule, and access to a 401K plan after you put in 1000 hours. "Real" benefits do not kick in until you are FT and/or in management (ex. health, vision, dental, holidays, pto, ect.).

Full-time colleagues get OK benefit package for insurances. Management level colleagues begin to get profit sharing at either Manager or District Manager level.

About what you would expect from a part-time job. The employee discount was nice though.

The insurance package was extremely overpriced for smokers. They would really screw you over if you smoked and fire you if you lied about smoking.

There were no benefits for part-time employees besides a discount on video and game rentals.

For part timers you get free pre-street movies, half off rentals, and possibly free digital codes.

Our vacation and sick days are combined. I would save a certain number or vacation days and then wind up getting sick and then losing them. We wound have vacation days and then be told we couldn't use them because it was during the busy season, or we were short staffed.

Despite the typical pros and cons that are listed with family video one thing that truly is great is there health insurance. The company contributes a lot for full time salaried employees and the benefits and coverage are awesome!

Part time employees do not receive these. Management ensures there are very few people who do.
