My cat had an illness that affected her for about 3 years. In her last two weeks I was caring for her and we had several emergency visits to the vet. I finally had to put her down but that was very difficult as I had to sedate her before driving her in. The Monday following her death, I called in late and was completely a wreck. there was no way I could be on the phones. Bereavement nor sick leave was available for me. This leave was unpaid and it counts against my attendance.
