The attitude is take the time you need to ensure you are focused at work. So if you need to leave because of appointments, family issues, etc., no problem. The problem only happens if you take excessive time off without meeting or exceeding work goals. I find it eliminates the stress of trying to fit life's unplanned events into 10 or 15 PTO.

Unlimited PTO, yet managers were sent a memo telling employees that they were taking too much time off. Unlimited PTO means they don't have to pay you any accrued PTO when you leave, either.

As of 2016 has an "unlimited PTO" policy but can be hard to take the time you'd have been given.

switch to open time off so no longer grow PTO. Not clear how much time can take off

Ever since I started in 2015, the sick time off policy has been use at your discretion, discretionary time off. It is not supposed to come out of paid time off. They just recently announced this year a new flexible time off policy where you no longer have a PTO balance that you accure. It's discretionary time off, when you need it, approved by your manager no PTO balance to worry about.

fireeye has good vacation and paid time off program i guess, but may not be as good as the big companies like facebook, or google. you can take leave any time.
