Good benefit. One of the few companies that still offer pension.
Very nice Pension Plan and Health care plan is very affordable
Inadequate PTO otherwise generous and typical for a utility
Solid, typical Fortune 500-type benefit package. New employees have a cash-balance pension (company contributions only) plus a standard matched 401(k) with some excellent low-cost funds plus an optional self-directed brokerage window. Annual bonus/incentive pay program with payouts based on company/department performance. Decent Health benefits at reasonable cost. Fairly generous time off benefits - new employees start with 8 paid holidays plus 19 PTO days per year.
Many benefits are advantageous for newer employees, but not so much for longtime employees. 401(k) is matched up to 6% of salary, which seems fairly standard. Pension was stopped for newer employees. Vacation and sick leave rolled into a bundle of PTO days. Need to burn 5 days in a row when sick before you can access short-term disability unless hospitalized overnight. Big change for many with chronic illnesses.
Generous vacation time, great 401K options, competent coworkers with a great focus on safety.
The best thing about the benefits package is FirstEnergy is 1 of very few companies left that offer a pension.
Multiple Offerings and Savings accounts.
The best thing about benefits - FirstEnergy provides a comprehensive total rewards package. Competitive salary, annual bonus potential, medical/dental/vision plans.
I think you should be allowed to update your PTO for the week that you pay for just like all PTO instead of having to go through open enrollment
