I think you should be allowed to update your PTO for the week that you pay for just like all PTO instead of having to go through open enrollment
Company is partnered with many other companies to offer perks. 401k matching is not as great as many other companies.
The benefits at FirstEnergy Corp are comparable to other large corporations but not that great. Depending upon where you work, flexible schedules are offered but if you work at a generating facility it's not encouraged.
I was not offered any benefits through first energy as a contractor. There are no perks as a contractor compared to a regular employee

Health benefits are limited to Anthem; however, my family and I have been happy and well-served. Dental through Delta dental also has been well-run. Wellness program and incentives are well-publicized and garner generally good reviews from employees. I haven't heard anybody complain about their health benefits. 401K is average.
