Flextronics offers paid time off to eligible employees.
it is very easy to accrue paid time off. For every 40 hours of work I want to say you accrued like a quarter of a day off. That doesn't sound like a lot but it adds up quick. And time carries over from one year to the next. It was normal for the guys that had been there for years to have months of off time....so much in fact that the managers would force them to take time off. Like the next 3 fridays or things like that. The time off is needed though because if you're a repair tech you will be stressed out trying to meet your numbers so that you don't get fired.
Due to their inability to manage the business, they were always asking the employees to take 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 days off and you were supposed to use your vacation or go without pay. They also capped the amount of vacation you earned so if you were being worked hard and got no vacation due to heavy workload, you did not earn any more vacation .
The way you do your vacation you have to request on the 10th of each month and, they handle your request very fast so you will know if you have the time that you requested, I have not been denied one time of my request off.

There is a time off "bank", the employee decides how to manage it, be it for sick leave or vacation/personal time off.
Vacation time is pretty good.
