good benefits, low pay. the pay can be better
The best thing about the benefits are they cover you fully darn near when you get hurt or sick but the worst thing is the low staff rate so getting sick days is slim to none
Health insurance for a family is $180 real good Pension you contribute but they match ( I guess ) Everyone looks forward to retiring with the state because of the benefits just you have to be vested 7/8 years in order to see it and not lose it. Dental is cheap too Vision is awesome every time I go to lens crafters that's all I ever hear is how great the state Vision insurance is. For maternity everyone dontate hours so I can have my full 3 months paid but either way you accumulate so many hours with the state that you will have it covered.
Worst thing is that even though you start with four weeks PTO (sick and vacay) is that Supervisors will not aporove any time off, ever, If you take a sick day that means that another person will have to pull a double to take your place which means YOU will have to pull a double the following day to take THEIR place. Because Sick pay only counts up to 40 hours in the week you will never be able to use any of it because you will pull doubles to make up the time. Bottom line, the benefits are worth much less that what it appears!
The benefits package is probably the best around compared to other private agencies and companies!!
Their health insurance benefits were okay and the best benefit of all was the flex time and the paid time off which was 4 hours every pay check and 4 hours sick time.
Insurance is $50 a month for BCBS. Dental was expensive.
Many choices for coverage but the rates are the best around, cheaper than anywhere I have seen, ever.
Best job of my life! It is what you make of it.
Employees are not allowed to use benefits because of short staffing.
