Not better than Average. Claim processing company is not the best. Seems like every change is being worse.
Had to change providers - I couldn't keep the doctor I had for 20+ years! The co-pays also kept changing without giving proper notice that it would.
Too high copays for chronic conditions; office visits too high etc.
Health insurance was fine but expensive
This rating probably fits the entire health insurance and costs in general. The cost for simple/routine care is extremely expensive. For example, if a child has a sore throat, and has a history of getting strep throat (3-5 times/year), the yearly cost for the doctor visit, strep test, and antibiotics, can be upwards of $1,000-2,000 out of pocket - ouch! I am not sure, but the profit from this simple/basic care could be to subsidize/offset less profitable types of care. Additionally, if the only time a patient can get to the clinic is as a walk-in, the cost seems to be closer to that of a regularly scheduled doctor's visit. However, urgent care is around 1.5 to 3+ times more. I am not sure what an emergency room visit would cost, likely substantially more, as we did not encounter any cases of strep throat that required that level of care.
Stay within network and you're covered for most things.
Great prescription benefits, low out of pocket and dental and vision are not bad. way better than the last place i worked
