Benefits are negotiated via the Union. This can be a long drawn out process and it usually involves the company trying to take as much away from us as possible and then the union rejecting the offer. The negotiations can be 6 month to a year to complete. Almost always we lost something that we once had and sometimes gain a little in another area.

The best part of the benefits package is the health insurance rates. Health insurance is very inexpensive and is very high quality.
