Great health care, 401K, dental, vision, etc. A bit expensive, but worth it.
Unlimited vacation for salaried employee Very high cost medical benefits. Lack of vision from executive level. Unclear hiring process and politics over quality of product.
Health insurance is very poor: either very high premiums (~$8k/yr for a family), or considerable premium ($4.5k) with a high deductible (another $4.5k). 401k benefits are quite good - match 50c/$ for up to 8k, so 4k, plus another few k in 'retirement' contribution, depending on your salary. Vacation benefits are interesting, i.e. no vacation is accrued, or 'due' to the employee. You can take as much time as you want, but obviously justifying that it won't affect your job/project; the catch is that you are very busy, and if you take any time off, there are no back-ups, so you have to come back and dig out of that mountain yourself. It is advertised that you are encouraged to take advantage of the scale of the company and move about at your will, but it is far from the truth: all applications go through your boss and he can easily say that you can't go, and then you can't.
Pros Unlimited Vacation 401K Most sites will work with you on work life balance, ability to work from home for short periods of time. Cons Pension is gone Health plan is not that good but more and more companies are moving to cheap high deductible plans. Ok if you are healthy and plan by putting money away, but not that good for the unhealthy. Get your salary on the front end; raises tend to be 1%-2% a year unless you are getting a promotion or new role.
The health care is the worst. Unlimited vacation is the best but with technology today you are never on vacation
Basic dental and vision are 100% covered by GE, with the option to increase benefits coverage. Health care has numerous options, with above average coverage.
It is complete but it is expensive
Lots of benefits (401k, medical/dental/vision, pension, EAP, discounts on GE appliances). Unfortunately, even with all the resources they provide... it can be tough to tell what some are and/or how to use them.
As an intern you get vacation time, but it isn't paid.
Good 401K savings plan, but the retirement plan has been eliminated for newer employees. Defined vacation is no longer available for new hires at more senior levels. It is a take what you need vacation plan.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
