Nice to have paid time off. Initially 2 weeks a year and increases with longevity with the company

Generous PTO time. Used to have separate sick/vacation time but it was all combined. 7 sick days were added to the 10 days of vacation in the first year.

You typically have to work during your vacation and they don't carry over or pay for unused vacation

Flexibility is great but not being able to roll over year to year is a major pain

One of the best parts about Gannett benefits: Nearly 30 days of flexible Paid Days Off, which can be used for sick days, vacation or both. They don't carry over year to year, though.
