The lack of a work from home policy. Management can work remotely whenever they like, but mid level employees are required to take PTO if a child is sick or schools are closed. If you as a manager are that worried about your employees not completing their work if you can't see them, then you should address that in a different manner. There is a VPN system and some employees don't even work in one of the main offices. That tells you that it isn't a system limitation rather it is a terrible culture that has been instilled by the extremely inexperienced and ineffective upper management team. That culture is that being in your desk for long hours is more important that what you are actually producing as a work product.
