Genentech benefits are generally great. They did institute a "surcharge" to cover your spouse/significant other if that person works and is offered medical through their employer. The percentage of the premium that the employee is responsible for has also steadily risen over the years, but Genentech still covers 88% of your medical premium which seems to be better than most. Genentech also offers a host of group discounts for pet insurance, home, car insurance, legal coverage, etc. These extra benefits are paid for entirely by the employee but they have made it very convenient by allowing these items to be deducted straight from your paycheck.
The Benefits package at Genentech is exceptional. It includes what you expect from a well established organization, but there are also other perks that I did not expect.
401k match is great at GENENTECH
As an intern, had sick days, overtime pay, career planning opportunities that are rare at other similar venues.
Nothing they offer a great benefit package. They provide support on many areas of life from legal benefits, to counseling, career development etc. if needed.
Great benefits and flexible working environment.
Health insurance employee share can be expensive and has continuously risen over the years. Very generous sabbatical of 6 weeks after 6 years of service. Depending on role and department, flexible work from home options are available.
Genentech has a comprehensive health plan, generous 401K match program as well as a sabbatical program (6weeks after 6 years)
Benefit costs continue to rise but salaries do not rise at the same rate. Choice of health benefits are somewhat limited.
benefits have been slimming down over the past few years
