The vacation and health benefits are above average. Many weeks I took off fridays for 3 day weekends without using a single hour of PTO.
I get to hear wonderful stories of benefits EB used to have. There were days when instead of PTO, people had separate sick and vacation time, so chronically ill or disabled employees were still capable of taking time off outside of a dr's office. There were days of actual maternity leave (instead of just covering the first 5 days of a woman's 6-week short term disability as she recovers from birth). There were days when employees benefited from continuing their educations, and earned pensions. All those days are gone.
401k and company match up to a certain amount
Benefits are average 6% 401k match Healthcare avg. with $1300 spousal surcharge.
Good benefits, retirement plan has changed from 5% to 6% match!
Matched 401k up to 6% is pretty great; PTO accumulates quickly but sick days mean using PTO.
No sick time, it is all PTO. Health insurance is crappy but cheap. Forced to used PTO for Christmas shutdown. Tuition program was changed last year and is effectively pointless now. 6% matching 401k.
Paid time off is minimal.
Pretty decent vacation time starting out. Matching 401k up to 4% and 50% match the next 2%. Health care, dental, vision are all pretty cheap and decent.
They give out very good benefits to their engineers, especially when you buy the stock, they give you some match like 6%.
