Good pay and benefits. Vacation pay and sick pay is nice but your gone a lot and need an act of Congress to take vacation, unless the supervisor likes you.
There were no benefits for contract employees.

The best part of the benefits package was the insurance policies and the stock options. Compared to other companies in the area, GD offered one of the best and most competitive packages offered.
Health insurance is very competitive; Vacation could be better
The benefits package was good at General Dynamics Land Systems. The one exception was the out of pocket copay deductible on the high cost health care insurance plan at the beginning of 2015.
The company match for the HSA was good for a family and The ability to have every other Friday off.
401K with matching, good health insurance, vision, dental, short & long term disability. 9/80 work period with every other Friday off is nice. Some flexibility in allowing employee to choose start time between 6:30 to 9:00AM. A week off from Christmas to New Years, but starting out with only 2 weeks of vacation and no increase until 5 years.
GD no longer offers a pension which was offset with a dollar for dollar with GD stock in the 401k.
