  • Health Insurance (83 comments)

“No best thing. High cost to the employees, little to no choice. Vision insurance and dental insurance are almost non-existent.”

  • 401K Plan (75 comments)

“Lack of choices. Very limited number of funds and constantly reducing diversity. Not OK when someone else limits my power of earning long term.”

  • Vacation & Paid Time Off (40 comments)

“Best thing - it increases over time Worst thing - once you reach 30 days - that is it - no more increases”

Best thing is vacation entitlement. Worst thing is pension or lack of, dismal health plans ( very high deductibles and co-payments, very short maternity leave), very limited mutual funds/stocks choices for 401K, poor work-life balance, etc.

The vacation and sick time is the best that I've ever experienced. There are many paid vacation days including the plant shutdown days in December.

GM has great overall benefits package. 15 company holidays plus 20 vacation days a year. Flexible work schedule. Low premium for healthcare plans. Generous 401K match.
