GM will pay for your health insurance while you are a temp, but it's not very good. It's barely better than catastrophic insurance. They do not offer vision or dental to temps.
Health insurance is cheap, vacation is accrued quickly, 401k (they give you 8% and you contribute 4%).
Employees have little say. The union does not truly take into consideration what the employees need in my opinion. A flexible spending account, an HSA or self directed benefits would be a great asset to the employees and potentially cost saving for the employer
