    Accrued based on % times years of employment. You need to request off well in advance (6months for 1week off or 2wks for 1day) and it's based on if anyone else in the region is requesting that same time off, because they won't allow it. They'll say, "The month of July is closed", and you will be denied. If you want a day off, only 1 discipline may be off at a time on that same date.

    Although they have vacation and sick time in different banks/accruals. Until recently they offered 2-personal days and 1 floating holiday.

    I'd say the vacation is average, comparable to similar companies. However, my policy was "grandfathered in" and I know a lot has changed for new hires over the last few years eg they no longer receive any personal days at all. The vacation and personal also vary depending on area/location and union/non-union.

    What went from 2 weeks vaca has now turned into 8 days, after 4 years of service rather than being granted any additional time, time has been taken. We earn our vacation time per pay period and do not get paid out upon leaving the company. Genesis is going downhill quickly.
