Best: Free general HMO health insurance that is very good quality, matching part of retirement package and regular visits from retirement company. Worst: begging employees to donate part of own paycheck pre-tax back to org.

Local councils negotiate benefits without national support. Benefits vary nationwide so pay close attention to the location of a review.

Not much better than any other place. Salaries are not equal.

Best is the vacation, sick leave and personal days, and being closed for X-mas break (like schools) and they match your 403(b). The worst is the insurance premiums. They are not cheap.

Great benefits package, 2 weeks paid vacation, 10 sick days coming in, large Council area so inclement weather in one area can often mean a day or two off in an area where weather isn't as bad, decent health coverage

Health insurance was great! Vacation time was generally honored, but they expect you to be accessible at all times if you are management level.
