Great health, dental, and vision benefits. If you work in the emergency room you can pretty much forget about getting any holidays or any time off during holidays. Vacation time accrual is good but you have to jump through hoops to get it as there is a lack of personnel and the employees that have been the longest get first choice.
no guarantee whatsover for 403b matching and/or 401a funds - some years, GHS gives nothing to its employees for retirement - so, terrible retirement benefits for those that began working after Sept 2010 - of course, those lucky enough to have worked at GHS for years (before 9/2010), have access to their pension plan (now closed to all new employees); additionally, GHS does not give any of its employees holiday benefits - one must use PTO for ALL holidays; keep looking
Work-life balance is good! Health insurance is great! PTO/vacation policy is pretty poor for new employees. You have to take PTO on holidays.
THe location is the best thing about greenville health system. I really enjoyed the town and ability to grow as an employee.
The best thing about the benefits is that some of the premiums are pre-tax deductions. This practice reduces the amount of taxes deducted each pay period.
Deductible on GHS health insurance was very high. Health insurance did not cover much. Vision and dental insurances were good. Retirement benefit was ok- matches to a certain percentage.
Our benefits package is very good. I do wish we could go back to half-price surgeries, but I do not pay for "preventative medical procedures".
Health insurance is with BCBS pretty good insurance if you ask me. Flexible spending account very handy if your very sickly. PTO Not much starting off but will increase after so many yrs if not used up alot. Has a Credit Union inside in case you need money asap or a loan for a car or whatever.
Great health insurance and 401k options. No paid holidays and small yearly raises. All PTO has to be earned (certain amount per pay period) and must be taken any time your department is closed, unless you are allowed to work extra hours to make up for the day off.
No long term care
