“Roth IRA option available. They offer profit sharing instead of matching 401k. If company makes money, they contribute a % of your salary into your retirement ”
“H. D. Smith offers 6 paid holidays each year. As the nature of our business is being the single source of supply for many daily pharmaceutical products to pharmacies, hospitals, and patients, we like to assure deliveries are received as timely as possible.”
Benefits are expensive with high copay and huge deductibles. So basically your paying everything up front Yearly in house screenings done. If you don’t pass a certain amount of the pre determined categories then you pay more if you smoke you pay more. If you choose to have your spouse on the plan yet they can get insurance from their employer then you pay more. This is from axis you that is on the healthcare industry and can’t provide better coverage for their employees
PTO is ok to start but only increases at 7 and 15 years.
Pros - Nice Company vehicle. Expenses paid for. Laptop, iPad, phone and work station. Cons - Not so good health plan. Not so good 401k. Only 14 days of PTO including sick days. Terrible eduction tuition reimbursement plan.
More holidays would be nice. H. D. Smith does offer 6 holidays-NY, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas.
Offer very expensive insurance plan
we had to order our prescriptions from the pharmacy at our corporate office which was in Illinois, so we had to have the scrips sent to them and then mailed to either the DC or home.
One of the best benefits was that since they own and operate a local pharmacy, prescriptions could be delivered to your desk. Also very nice was being able carry over 10 days unused PTO.
Below average. The company claims to offer bonuses and profit sharing but they rarely if every pay out. No 401k match. Very rigid management who like to keep associates under their thumb, so little if any flexibility. New hire training was good, and there are lots of opportunities for online courses.
Healthcare options are always on the rise, so the fact that there are strong options available makes it worth the cost. 401K is available but is not company matched.
High deductable and higher cost for spouse
