401(k): Through the BEST Plan 401(k), we provide an automatic savings program for you to defer a portion of your income to your own personal account on a pre-tax basis, which lowers your taxable income by an amount equal to your savings or to the Roth 401(k) after tax option. We offer this to all employees.
It has pretty much included everything necessarily. Nothing special.
Best thing is company match
I am not sure of the percentage they match but from what I've heard is good compared to other companies.
Schwab is the retirement plan administrator. You can purchase shares of HDR stock (which historically have done very well - never declined in value since HDR became employee-owned in 1996!). They also offer lots of standard stocks/bonds/mutual funds (including target date retirement index funds with low expense ratios). Through an option called a "Personal Choice Retirement Account" (PCRA), you can transfer some (or all) of your money from the default bucket over to a separate account that you manage yourself, and there you have access to pretty much anything through Schwab. I invested in some very low-fee Schwab index funds (lower than Vanguard, surprisingly) and they have done very well. HDR matches employee contributions 100% up to the first 4% of payroll deduction, and the matching funds are fully vested after 3 years of service. Also, you can invest pre-tax money (traditional 401k), after-tax money (Roth 401k), or voluntary after-tax money (where contributions aren't taxed but earnings are). Lots of flexibility and great options.
There are quite a few minor things that could be changed to make this a great benifit for all employees and job seekers.
Employee owned and the ability to purchase company stock.
Includes option to buy employee stock (a safe bet). Employer match up to 4%.
Pro - Charles Swab Manages the 401k plan and gives you different options to invest. Con - Employee matching is rather low.
The 401K is industry standard with a match.
they match up to a 3% contribution
