    Competitive 401k contributions (4% core contribution no matter what, dollar for dollar 4% match), competitive (maybe on the lower end, but competitive) health insurance, poor bonus (3% target payout). While the company touts flexible work arrangements, this is EXTREMELY hit and miss. Many areas are not allowed to use them even when there is zero reason and it would have no impact (except improved employee morale). Some leadership are very old school and do not believe in it, therefore it is not allowed. Other areas it is allowed, but it is not well known which areas those are. Flexibility on a one-off basis isn't uncommon, but is also very manager / department dependent. In some areas where routine flexibility isn't allowed (requires a high level of oversight) a one-off basis is typically a non-issue. Raises average about 2%. Salaries have posted ranges, but unless you hire in high, you are unlikely to exceed the middle of the range. The ranges move with the market, but raises do not keep up so any value you have is lost year to year. If you are at the low end of the range you can receive an equity bump if you have a good boss, but it is not automatic or guaranteed. Otherwise, raises vary very little based on actual performance (which is not evaluated consistently manager to manager anyhow). Exceptional performance may help you get a different job, but does not seem to help you get paid more for a current role.

    Herman Miller offers a variety of Health Plans that fit different needs. I appreciate that. We also have tons of great benefits. One of my favorite (as a working parent) is our back up care. We can get an in-home nanny for days off school or sick days for a minimal co-pay. It really helps our family and I couldn't imagine not having this benefit. Other benefits are great and I am glad to be a part of the team!

    Need more vacation time...shouldn't have to pay for an extra week. BCBS provides better coverage than Aetna. Great flexibility.
