At other employers, I was allocated a specific bank of sick and vacation time that was one-size-fits-all, but didn't really work for me. Love that I can use all of it for fun at Highmark!

Company offer PTO paid days
They will give PTO. However, you must bill a certain number of hours. If you have been here many years it is impossible to use up your PTO and still reach your billable goals. They do not prorate it based on PTO earned. For some, if they take all their PTO, they do not make their billable hours. This was mentioned in meetings. We were told 'you must meet your billable hours goal.' I once worked on Thanksgiving and Christmas because it was expected since they don't celebrate those holidays in some countries and we were supposed to be on call 24/7
Vacation or PTO is fine, except the culture at HM Health Solutions needs work. Its not uncommon for managers or colleagues wanting to have you join conference calls or talk with you when you're supposed to be off. High pressure environment is a contributing factor.
No "sick days", all "PTO", and they took 1 day away which is now a "Volunteer Day", which requires some type of paperwork so no one uses them.

Two weeks after six months, plus five six days, plus five flex days, plus about five paid holidays and a floating holiday. Another week added after five years.
