Best: Health Insurance is awesome. 401K match up to 6%. HSA and flexible spending account was provided.
Hitachi provides many benefits. Health, life, dental, and vision insurance. They also match 401k up to 6% and have roth 401k available.
2 shutdowns - 1 in July and 1 in December. The July shutdown requires use of PTO, though.
Health care benefits is one of the best offered in this area.
HSA plan - They do give you $$ to offset high cost, still expensive.
Good healthcare coverage, matching 401K and tuition reimbursement.
Work life balance is not promoted. There are no company laptops offered to all employees to allow working from home. The laptops are given to a few people which causes low morale.
The Hitachi benefits are definitely on-par with other large companies. The comprehensive benefits package was a goodly portion of the draw of the job, for me. The pension plan has, as of 2017, been rolled into the 401K (thus company matching >3%). Employees have the option to customize their 401K stock options, or select an automatic algorithm-based plan. Roth and traditional 401Ks are available. Following the industry standard, there are also graduated benefits, such as accrued time off beginning at two weeks annual paid vacation the first three years, up to four weeks off after five years. Health insurance options are, in my opinion, top-notch. Both PPO and HDHP options are available, along with HSA/FSA. Supplemental life insurance for employee and spouse/dependents is available. EAP is a free consultation-like service which is provided for employees' and their parents/parents-in-law. Additionally, there are many free perks employees can utilize, such as discounts on certain cars, movie tickets, phone plans, and other commodities in that ilk. *** As a note, many of the benefits selected below have caveats. (E.g., not everyone 'gets' a company car, mental health benefits are part of one's selected health insurance, and some of them must be selected by an employee at time of hire and paid biweekly, etc..)
Only received Medical with no Vision or Dental coverage. Generous HSA contribution. Poor time off allowance.
Great employee medical benefits. The vacation policy is pretty harsh. Two weeks only for first 5 years. No negotiation on this point even for someone who has been in undusrty for 25+ years. After completion of fith year, not fifth year anniversay, one day is added per year.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
