The amount of vacation time and they give you is average except they only allow two people in my department to have vacation on the same day so you have to apply in advance. However if you take a sick day that is paid for also a personal day you will be paid for however they do dislike when you hitting over time so sometimes they will give you a zero day which means you have the day off but you don’t get paid for it, To lessen your hours for the week

New employees receive 4 weeks off a year. Unsure about how this plays out during the summer times.

It is hard to get a full 2 week vacation if you are not there for a long time, especially in the summer. When there is low census, you can take vacation days easily. Sick time is fine. But...if you call out sick on the weekend, you have to make it up. It is a stupid rule
