Retirement security in the future
Basic teacher retirement- TRS. Also offered 401k or 403b that you could put unmatched money from your paychecks into.
There was someone who came in and sat down and explained the whole plan to you. I like how flexible the plan is and it can transfer to a variety of different companies within the Houston area, including some hospital jobs.
The best thing about the retirement plan is that we are enrolled even without selecting a retirement plan. The worst is that HISD doesn't match the amount employees contribute towards retirement.
District does not offer a 401K or matching funds; deducts the required amount from biweekly payroll
