It would be nice to have more days.
You can't purchase additional PTO hours during benefit sign-up time.
PTO/Vacation/Sick days are all the same to them. You accrue abt 4 hours every pay period.
Time off is accrued instead of advanced. It is very slowly earned.
The company gives around 18-20 days of PTO starting which must be earned each pay period, and PTO must be used for Sick Days.
Accrual rate gets better the longer you work there. Starts off average but then after a couple years starts to increase as you start having company anniversaries
PTO here sucks. You "earn" PTO with each paycheck. Gone are the days where you just GET a week's vacation. Also, no sick days. You have to use PTO for sickness.
You will accumulate so many hours of PTO every pay period, the amount of time you accumulate changes based on the number years you have been with the company.
Initially you receive 14 PTO days (sick and vacation combined). 12 holidays (above industry average).
One of the most comprehensive plans in Southern California. Definitely one of the better perks of working at HCA.
