Holidays and paid leave are available to eligible IKEA employees.
The best part of working at Ikea is vacation and paid time off because you have certain times off which I don't remember, we have a system where we can check from. Mine should be currently 25 hours, it always updates according to how many days you worked previously
PTO accrues based on hours worked and how long you've been there. Sick time sucks though only 30 hours a year for part time and 39 for full time.
Great benefit package for vacation/ time off. Start accumulating PTO your first week. Usually get approved for requests.
Because of the nature of the job as an interior designer you can take up to 4-5 weeks off (if you've accrued that much) and your job doesn't really suffer. You collaborate with the Sales dept. so they help maintain the roomsets since it's part of their job.
It accrues based on hours worked, not yearly, so it doesn't expire and you can take as much or as little as you want as long as you have to time.
Great Benefit but the lack of fellow co-workers does not help when trying to use it.
Its ok if you have worked ther for a long time . If you take time off it is frowned upon by management ,there are very few workers. so no one is there to pick up the slack.
PTO is easy to earn. you earn time by working time. The higher lever of hours you are hired at the more quicker you can earn PTO. It is capped based on your hours worked and time at the company but does grow the longer you stay with the company. Depending on the department and time of year using your PTO can be hard.
PTO accures, but you cannot use it for sick time when you need to be out -- life happens and not everything can be scheduled. so while you can pay yourself for missed time with Personal time off (PTO) you shouldn't have to incur a disciplinary measure for using it.
You accrue paid time off even if you are using paid time off.
