“Earlier Imagine Learning did not put a limit on sick time, which was nice. Recently they changed that to be part of the PTO package, which is fine, but the former option was a nice to have.”
“They used to allow unlimited sick time, but cautioned that this might go away if abused. It went away, and they added time to PTO time for sick time. ”
“They do have a matching 401k which I think has been good”
Really good company contribution to HSA account
The worst thing is that PTO and sick time were combined. So if you need to take a sick day, you must take it as PTO. On the plus side, when the two were merged, the company did increase the PTO accrual rate. However, the company also has an unwritten rule that remote work should be kept to a minimum. So we end up with more sick employees in office and more sick employees as a result. And no one wants to stay home if it means they aren't getting to use their PTO for vacation.
I feel like the best thing about the benefits package at Imagine Learning is how responsive the HR staff is to employees. For instance, they recently increased paternity and maternity leave while doing away with unlimited sick time. I believe that these were both moves in the right direction (since unlimited sick-time was being abused) and reflect careful attention to staff.
Time off between Christmas and New Year’s is nice because it’s in addition to your vacation. Sick time has recently been adjusted and included in one bucket as paid time off so if you don’t use it, it’s extra vacation days. Left over vacation hours roll over which is good. 2 Cigna health coverage options: a low cost/high deductible the company contributes to and a PPO with higher cost/lower deductible with good coverage. The dental Mac option is fantastic. Overall cost is decent (I’ve had zero family cost coverage before so it’s hard to impress me here but it’s less than a lot of other companies) I’m giving 5 stars overall because the company culture is great but the 401k is lower match than normal (50% match up to 5%). Not sure if they have adoption assistance.
Benefits are meh...good but nothing special
Low match 401k, but decent health insurance.
Vacation, holidays and sick leave are excellent. Medical/Dental/Vision is par for the course. 401K is pathetic, 2% match. Were it even a normal 401k, then the benefits package would rate 5 stars.
Salary is market rate but benefits are below market. 401K contributions are not high enough. They match 1/2 % up to 4 %.
Easy to work with. The week between Christmas and New Years is a great benefit.
Good health insurance, no 401K matching when I was there (2012)
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
