Parental leave can be taken for the birth of a child or the placement of a child through adoption or foster care. Both men and women are offered 12 weeks off for maternity and paternity leave. Both men and women receive 100% of their salary for 6 weeks. For the other 6 weeks of paternity leave, men can choose to work part-time for 75 percent of their salary or not work and receive no salary. For the other 6 weeks of maternity leave, women can choose to work part-time for 75 percent of their salary, not work and receive no salary, or not work and utilize short-term disability coverage. This is a very generous policy -- especially for such a young company!
