Begin with 3% company matching
They do not match until one year of service and then its 3 years of vesting.
If you make over 250k, there is ZERO company match, ever. If you make under 250k, it is 5%. You will not earn any match in your first 12 months. If you join midyear, your second year match will be pro-rated. So if you join in June 2017, you get nothing in Jan 2018 (they match at beginning of year, not monthly). Then Jan 2019, you would only get match on your salary after June 2018 (1 year of service anniversary). So it would be half of 5 percent. It's not until 2.5 years after joining that you finally receive the full match.
Employer contribution is better and funds choices are more to invest
100% match on up to 5% of total pay.
5% march after 1 year of service for those who earn under $250k total comp.
Five percent employer match program
I have had better. Matching is only to %5 and the contribution was annually not quarterly. So I lost out on a lot of gains not having that contribution in my 401k the whole year.
Pay level based on if you recieved some of the bonus payouts, lower level staff recieved some of the items non exempt didn't
Excellent 401k plan with matching.
