Retirement (403b) matching up to 6%. 2-4 weeks time off each year plus holidays, half day Fridays over the summer, and two weeks off for Christmas. Insurance is great for individuals, but super expensive once you add spouse or dependents. Great EAP. Free tuition is amazing- staff and their families!

The cost are too high. The cheapest family plan is $466 a month with a $3,000 deductible. I also had to get the FSA so I could afford to use the insurance which is another $220.84 a month.

I'm married with no children and my husband has how own insurance. But I know colleagues with kids say it is really expensive.

The benefits at Jacksonville University for full-time employees are fantastic. Vacation time is more competitive than commercial industry counterparts. Regarding the 401K, JU will match up to 6% of annual income. The health insurance is manageable if you are on your own plan. My spouse and I opted not to add him as it made it astronomically more expensive. I cannot comment on the family plans. Full-time non-exempt employees also get education benefits with area-wide schools, which possibly off-sets the health care. It is worth looking into as an employer for these reasons; however, the salaries are dismal in comparison with national averages.
