Company offers full health benefits along with 401K. Pay was decent at the time for a Customer Service Rep ($17.51/hour).
Good Health insurance is pretty good Bad No 401K match No cash bonus - no incentive to perform better than others. A low performer gets compensated as much as a top performer. Frustrating.
The best part about the benefits package at JibJab is that for a small company, they do their best to provide quality health insurance and as many other perks as possible for their employees. While there is a fair amount of external and internal freelance/contract workers at JibJab, the management likes to have a nice, strong core of people there as salaried, full-time employees. Some of the 'standard' benefits include paid vacation, sick days, participation in a company 401(k) plan, vision and dental insurance. They also provide a number of other lesser-known services via the external HR company that they contract out with to provide services such as Employee Assistance Programs, legal assistance and counseling services. Other than some perks like complimentary bagels on Mondays, free coffee and cereal/snacks anytime you want, the hands-down best employee bonus from working at JibJab is the laundry service. That's right, they pay for your laundry. Drop off your dirty laundry in the provided canvas bag on Monday, and a laundry service comes by to pick it up, wash it, fold it, and deliver it back to the studio 24 hours later! This is a huge help when you live in a densely populated city like the west side of Los Angeles and live in an old apartment complex with one washer and dryer. As for areas of improvement? More than two weeks paid vacation would be nice - even if you have to be at the company for awhile to earn it. Also, for a company that does a lot of family (and now for the past few years, kid-friendly too) content, the lack of a good maternity/paternity leave program is a real surprise. Having to save up your already limited vacation days and invoke a federal paternity leave law to be at home with a newborn is a sore spot for sure. In general, I'd say that JibJab does the best job they can to provide for their employees. The two brothers who founded JibJab are big on creating a unique and supportive company culture, so maybe some of the better perks are areas that will improve as the company continues to mature and grow.
Health care coverage is great if you don't have children or a family. There is no company match on the 401K. Vacation amount is average, the catch is there is never time to take it.
