Quick training, and Free ASE Certification. At least that's a good thing.

They train you pretty quick, and it always helps if you have previous vehicular maintenance experience. ASE Certification is free through Jiffy Lube.

I was well prepared for the job by the time I started.

If taken seriously and done properly, the computer based training can help you become proficient and even excel at the job. I have personally witness 3 of my employees obtain their ASE Certification just using the Jiffy Lube University training program.

My location actually had pretty decent job training. That's one thing this corporation does well. Employees start out with the responsibilities of just cleaning the floors and windows and move up to other positions as they complete computer training and pass tests on the computer and with the manager for proficiency. This helps employees to stay in their level of competency and give them goals to work toward. The computer training was kind of cheesy at times, but did offer good information to learn about automotive maintenance and could eventually help you to earn an ASE certification and go work for a dealership or body shop for better pay.

Computer training is good but most of these people are not mechanics.

You take a bunch of computer tests that are dumbed down, repetitive and truly useless in the long run

Everyone helps you, until you get it right.
